An Oasis Dream Come True
I’ve never really had my own backyard but, a few years ago, this vision of a funky little oasis just wouldn’t quit.
I’m so proud of the oasis I’ve created, to serve as a refuge for me, my airbnb guests, and of course, all the beautiful butterflies.
Here I’ll share highlights from the journey, challenges we navigated, and links to the goodies I discovered along the way.
If you’re building your own oasis, airbnb guest house, or just love to get lost in pretty pictures, this is the spot for you.
Key features:
We always knew we wanted a sauna. After many months of research and electrical decisions, we found this perfect little cedar barrel.
We found this interesting pergola and created a little outdoor dining area. You can open the top to let in sunlight when you’re in the mood for that as well.
We created this firepit using stones from around the property (there was once a pond back here!). Looking up at the stars with a s’mores in hand is always a top happiness moment for me on vacations.
At some point, I’ll do an entire post on our Cowboy Pool. We were buying at exactly the right time when they released the heater/cooler combination. Star gazing during cold winter nights at 100 degrees, or looking up at the Live Oak trees on a hot summer day. Best of both worlds, and guests really love this amenity.
